Such a great ending! I have followed Lydia’s career since she won the US Amateur at my home course outside Cleveland at the age of 15. Now in the HOF; unfortunately the downside comes with the reality that she likely will start to play a lot less and retire at the top. Well done Lydia! Thanks for your highlights!!

Last night a 22 year old scored the winning goal in Portugal's Euro 2024 game against the Czech Republic, taking the baton from #Ronaldo who is in his sixth European Championship. This shows the importance of succession planning in all walks of life from football to inheritance tax! …Proper planning helps ensure that a significant portion of an individual’s estate can be passed on to their heirs rather than being consumed by taxes. Inheritance tax rates can be high, so effective planning can save a substantial amount of money. For business owners, succession planning is crucial to ensure smooth transition of ownership and operations without disrupting the business’s functionality or value. Fail to plan, plan to fail. 👋 For an informal chat about how Sovereign Corporate & Trustee Services (SCATS) can help call 01244 901350 / ukcorporate@sovereigngroup.com, or message usdirectly. https://lnkd.in/eQ6k5des#successionplanning #ronaldo #tng #IHTplanning #taxplanning

https://lnkd.in/gPTcJtXAI will agree with one thing trudeau says: Canadians deserve better.Yes we do !!! Starting with a federal government who respects us, works for and with us, leads us in the direction of prosperity for our citizens and country. Good leadership, intermingling with citizens, listening to subjects of concern and working together to overcome struggles by cooperation, respect and sincerity for the well-being of all. Remaining transparent at all times, without a reason to hide. Not dictating and using our tax dollars against us. Not taxing us into poverty. Not carelessly increasing our country's deficit without any benefit or concern towards Canadians. In other words, being responsible and taking pride to have been elected by the citizens to work for the citizens, never against. Canadians must at all times be the prime concern of any political party. We pay them, we deserve the best.We did not pay them to enact the Emergency Act during Freedom Convoy 2022. The Supreme Court has ruled it was illegal. Liberals disagree and said they will appeal. They do have a right to appeal by law, even though they broke the law. Individuals are now suing Canada, they are suing the Attorney General who is the representative of the Federal Government, trudeau and freeland included. Do Liberals honestly believe Canadians will forgive and forget this act against Canadians and will re-elect them based on anything they say and promise they will do going forward? So far the only promise trudeau has not broken is legalizing pot since he was elected. One promise kept vs. all others broken and continuing to break. Hollow words from a hollow person.

The Women's Premier League (WPL) is the Twenty20 (T20) cricket franchise league launched by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in March 2020. BCCI already 'owns' another T20 league called the Indian Premier League (IPL).Seeing how the WPL is an all-women league and IPL is an all-men league, the editor in me raises these author queries:AQ1: Isn't the WPL Indian owned? Or is it that none of the players are Indian?AQ2: Is there a possibility that the IPL has mixed-gender participation and not just men? And, most importantly, AQ3: Shouldn't IPL be renamed as MPL - Men's Premier League - for the sake of accuracy, consistency, and symmetry? Why this difference? Why are the women called 'women' and the men called 'Indian'?#IPL #WPL #Cricket #genderequality #BCCI #IndianPremierLeague #WomensPremierLeague #sportsindustry #entertainment

TRIGGER WARNING - sexual offences discussedA man convicted of raping a 12-year-old three times is set to represent the Netherlands at the Paris Olympics. Yes. You heard that right. Steven van de Velde (now 29 years old) was sentenced to four years in prison in 2016 after admitting three counts of rape against a child, which took place back in 2014. He was 19 year’s old at the time. He met the 12 year old on Facebook, travelled from Amsterdam to the UK, plied her with alcohol and raped her repeatedly at an address in Milton Keynes. The girl has since self-harmed and made attempts to overdose since. Despite being given a four year sentence, he was allowed to serve it in the Netherlands but was released after just 12 months. Despite in 2014, his sentencing judge stating his career was now ‘shattered’ and his hopes of representing his country lay as a ‘shattered dream’, he resumed his volleyball career and has competed in international tournaments since 2018. The Dutch Olympic Committee told the BBC, “After his release, Van de Delde sought and received professional counselling. He demonstrated to those around him – privately and professionally – self insight and reflection.’They have also said that his return to the sport met guidelines set by the Dutch Volleyball Federation which sets out conditions for athletes to resume competing after conviction. Van de Velde has previously said, “I can’t reverse it, so will have the bear the consequences. It has been the biggest mistake of my life.”Now here are my issues:1)Why has he served just ¼ of his four year sentence?2)How is a convicted rapist and paedophile representing his country at the Olympics?3)There is a lot of talk around how HE has changed his life and is now a better person. What about the victim? At what point does anybody think about the victim’s life?4)What message does this send to society to both victims and perpetrators?Moral of the story? If convictions don’t ruin lives, allegations certainly don’t.I understand that once a perpetrator has served their sentence, they have done just that. I also understand that guidelines have been followed. Whether said guidelines are adequate is a different story. But my concerns come from a moral capacity. In what world is it ok for a convicted rapist and paedophile to drug (with alcohol) a child and repeatedly rape them; serve a quarter of their sentence; go to therapy and self reflect and then represent their country at the Olympics? What message is that sending to young people?I am no longer shocked by the way perpetrators of violent and sexual offences are completely prioritised over victims but I am angry that this has been allowed to happen. Solidarity with the victim and any other victims who find this a tough thing to process and digest. #olympics #vawg #volleyball #abuse #domesticabuse https://lnkd.in/ejr4xTJn
